A look at maintenance and resistance to mechanical wear

Facility Manager

For a facility manager or building developer, deciding which flooring to choose involves considering the operational costs involved. A material that requires special maintenance on a periodic basis introduces a variable that impacts management overall.

Multilayer protection and MSR-B2 classification

In offices with where chairs with casters are commonly used and in shops that are exposed to constant flows of foot traffic, dullness caused by  micro-scratches is the first sign of wear. The GXG SPC tackles this problem through a 0.55 mm thick wear layer coupled with MSR-B2-certified micro-scratch resistance coating. This technical specification demonstrates the material’s  high resistance to surface abrasion, which ensure the original finish withstands daily wear  from mechanical friction.

Simplified routine maintenance

One advantage of the GXG system is that it does not need any periodic invasive treatments. Unlike other materials, SPC:

– Needs no waxes or sealants.
– Needs no periodic polishing.
– Can be sanitised using standard neutral detergents.

This surface stability means cleaning activities are optimised. The product’s surface hardness and chemical resistance ensure the lasting durability that is required for high-traffic commercial flooring.
